    FAQ

    What is the virtual design service?
    House Nine’s virtual design service is an approachable and convenient solution to help you create the House Nine look in your home. The entire process takes place online where you begin by answering our simple questionnaire that lets us understand your goals and aspirations for your project, your budget, how many rooms you would like to work on and how each room should function. From here, you will have a consultation call with your dedicated House Nine designer, who will thoroughly delve into your brief and get into the nitty-gritty before creating a bespoke design package that will contain everything you need to get started on your design journey.
    How long is the process?
    We allow for 3-4 weeks per room for the first revision, however, this may vary depending on the scope of your project. Your designer will confirm this with you in your consultation call.
    How long does the consultation last for?
    Your call will take place over Zoom and will last for 30 mins.
    What does the consultation call involve?
    This is a chance for your designer to understand better how you would like your space to function, how you would like to use the space, any changes you would like to make and to learn more about your personal and design style. You can also let us know your budget, likes and dislikes and who will be using the space.
    What do I need to prepare for my consultation call?
    It is very helpful to have your floor plans ready to go, so we know which rooms you are referring to. We highly suggest you make a Pinterest board with inspirational images for the rooms. Don’t worry if this isn’t your thing, you can also just pick your favourite House Nine projects, so we know which direction to take your design.
    Is the consultation call fee included in the design fee?
    The consultation call fee is separate from your virtual design fee.
    What is the difference between virtual design and your full-service projects?
    Full-service projects are typically a full home renovation, which requires you to vacate the home while the work is taking place. Virtual design projects are ideal for those who would still like to achieve the House Nine look but may only be working on a couple of rooms in the home. It is perfect for people who would like some design direction and expertise and looking to facilitate the rest of the project yourself or with a contractor.
    Do you recommend contractors?
    We don’t recommend contractors. As our virtual designs take place across the country, we are not able to suggest contractors we have never worked with. We will not be in communication with contractors either, and therefore cannot be liable for any work that is undergone.
    Can you do site visits?
    Currently, we do not allow for site visits on our virtual design projects. We often find that these are not necessary once we have seen photos and videos of your rooms.
    Why can’t I get a core or furniture package for my bathroom?
    We only offer the complete package on bathrooms as they require elevations. These are important to understand the height and dimensions of the sanitary ware and any other items suggested.
    Do you allow for all budgets?
    We will discuss your budget in our consultation call, however, we are a company that focuses on using high-quality, long-lasting, and sustainable pieces to achieve our House Nine aesthetic.
    How many rooms can I do at a time?
    We typically allow for a maximum of three rooms at a time per project. However, we will do our best to include more rooms if we are able to. We always suggest starting with rooms that require plumbing or items that contractors will need at a certain time like tiles or sanitary ware.
    How are your prices structured?
    We have developed three design packages that come at varying price points per room. Your designer will advise you on which is the best package for your design project.
    What happens if the products you suggested are out of stock?
    We will only suggest products that are in stock and therefore ask our clients in our consultation call if they are ready to make purchases to avoid missing out on stock availability.
    How many revisions do I get?
    You will have the chance for one revision. Your first revision will arrive with all the information needed to get started on your project. However, if there is something that you might like to change, then you can let us know and we will send the revised edit to you for your second revision.
    Can you help with structural changes?
    We certainly can! Our architectural service functions similarly to our virtual design, where you will have a consultation call with our in-house architect who can go through your existing floor plans. They can then put your new plans into CAD for you to work with your contractor or submit for planning permission.
    Do you offer full-scale kitchen designs?
    We can offer full-scale kitchen design that includes elevations; however, the price is dependent on the scale of your project. Prices start from £3200.
    Do you offer discounts?
    We do not offer discounts on our virtual design services, however many of our suggested items will include a discount code for you to apply to your shopping cart, including bedding, paint and certain furniture items.
    What is the fee for the consultation call? 
    The fee for your consultation call is £220 including VAT
